Young people from Iquitos receive technical training thanks to the Petroperú Scholarship

Thirty-six young people from riverside communities near the Iquitos Refinery and the pipeline will complete their technical training in August thanks to Petroperú Scholarship, an educational program developed in partnership with the National Industrial Work Training Service (SENATI), which seeks to strengthen their job opportunities and contribute to the development of their communities.

The beneficiaries come from Santo Tomás, Santa Clotilde, El Milagro, Independencia, Astoria, Centro Arenal, Costanera, Barrio Florido and Santa Clara (zones I, II and III). Since 2022, these localities have received free training in technical careers essential to the sector, such as business administration, industrial administration, official tourism guide, automotive mechanics, maintenance mechanics and industrial electricity.

The program covers 100% of academic costs, including tuition, personal protective equipment, full uniform, tutoring and internships in companies in the sector. In addition, students will receive their technical degree, thus consolidating their preparation for the labor market.

With this social management initiative, Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to education and the sustainable development of communities, providing young people with greater opportunities for professional growth and improving their access to formal and specialized employment.
