Work begins on the installation of a modular hospital for Talara

Work begins on the installation of a modular hospital for Talara

The assembly, installation and implementation works of the Modular Hospital to be donated by PETROPERU for the benefit of the population of Talara are underway. This week, field work began on the 550 square meter area of the parking lot of Hospital II Talara, recently delivered by the Management of the Piura Healthcare Network of EsSalud, for the execution of this important project that is being carried out the state company as part of its social responsibility, support for local development and commitment to the oil province.

After the management of the corresponding permits for its implementation, the Piura de EsSalud Assistance Network officially handed over the land to PETROPERU, so that the works that will allow the expansion of the hospital offer in the province of Talara, since the establishment will have 30 clinical beds and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) implemented with 15 beds for the care of critically ill patients.

In this regard, the manager of the Piura Healthcare Network of EsSalud, Dr. José Céspedes Medrano, thanked PETROPERU for this important contribution, a company that has been providing constant support to the population since the beginning of the pandemic. "We appreciate your participation and commitment as Peruvians and Talara locals for completing this important hospitalization service," said the official, after handing over the land.

The Modular Hospital that PETROPERU will deliver as a donation to EsSalud, is valued at 7,609,853.00 soles and will have a useful life of approximately 15 years. The assembly, installation and implementation works will have a duration of 60 calendar days, counted from last July 27, 2020, the date on which the contract between the state-owned company and the Satec-IRPM Latam SAC Consortium, in charge of these jobs.

This important contribution of PETROPERU for the province of Talara, includes the implementation of the public health establishment with modern medical equipment such as lung ventilators, automatic defibrillators, electrocardiographs, central monitors for multiple beds and LED screens to display vital signs of patients, among others.

For its part, EsSalud will be in charge of its operation and maintenance. In that sense, Céspedes Medrano reported that they have been coordinating the implementation of the network oxygen supply system, as well as the enabling of a differentiated triage, environments for complementary hospitalization services, pharmacy, among other specifications that will guarantee the operation of the referred service. Likewise, he informed that EsSalud has arranged the call for more than one hundred places of workers for this service, duly trained.

It is important to mention that, due to the health emergency that the country is going through, the establishment will be available to all patients with COVID-19 in Talara and will not limit its care to insured patients, thus contributing to the health care of the neighbors of the oil province.
