Women of Villa el Salvador start physiotherapy technical career thanks to scholarships from PETROPERÚ
Fifteen young women who live in the human settlements near the Conchan Refinery began classes on the technical career of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation on Monday, April 23, thanks to an agreement between PETROPERU and the Instituto Superior Arzobispo Loayza.
The students, who were previously selected through a rigorous process conducted by PETROPERU and the aforementioned institute, received an integral scholarship to study the full technical career, which includes the educational materials, and whose classes are taught at the institute's headquarters located in Villa El Savior.
The technical career consists of eleven months of theoretical classes and one month of practices. The latter will be carried out in hospitals and medical centers with which the institute has an agreement.
For Marjory Oblitas, one of the scholarship students, this is a great opportunity to learn and apply her knowledge to help patients. On the other hand, Brisseth Macedo, a young beneficiary mother with many expectations of learning, specifies that this training will allow her to work and get ahead with her little daughter.
The coordinator of the institute, Arita Santos, thanked PETROPERU for this agreement, which is the first of its kind to be signed with the educational institution, and for the possibility they offer young women to learn a technical career that is in great demand in the labor market "They can work not only in hospitals and clinics, but also in gyms and therapy centers, and even on their own," he says.
