With the support of PETROPERU, vaccination against Covid was completed for children from communities
Children, adolescents and adults from the community of Saramurillo, in Loreto, received the vaccine against COVID-19 during a recent vaccination campaign carried out by the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) of Loreto, which had the logistical support of PETROPERÚ.
During the medical day, 580 people were immunized, of which 200 were children between 5 and 11 years old, 300 were adolescents between 12 and 18 years old, and 80 were over 18 years old, from the native community neighboring Station 1 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP).
The vaccination brigade, which was made up of medical personnel from the community and from the Coordination of the Strategy for Indigenous Peoples of DIRESA, received support from PETROPERÚ for the transfer by river to the area, as well as support from accommodation and feeding.
Likewise, and in compliance with the vaccination plan for the Indigenous Communities and Original Peoples carried out by DIRESA Loreto, it has been scheduled to continue with the immunization campaigns throughout the Amazon, which will continue to have the constant support of PETROPERÚ, as part of its commitment to the health of the populations surrounding its operations.
This is a permanent logistical support that PETROPERÚ provides so that the most remote communities in the Amazon benefit from this type of immunization campaign to protect their health, especially in the context of the health emergency in which we find ourselves due to the COVID-19 virus.
