With massive participation, an earthquake drill took place in PETROPERU

PETROPERU participated actively in the earthquake and tsunami drill carried out today nationwide, in compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 023-2019-PCM. The drill was carried out at 10:00 am at the Company's Main Headquarters, as well as at its refineries, the North Peruvian Pipeline and all its plants and facilities.

The 8.5 earthquake drill, with tsunami, was led from the Talara Refinery by the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Carlos Paredes Lanatta, who highlighted the commitment and exemplary behavior of the workers. Paredes was accompanied by the Manager of the PMRT, Jorge Alméstar Mauricio, the Deputy Manager of Talara Refining, Ricardo Castillo and Company officials. While, in the Main Office, in Lima, the activity was conducted by Carlos Centurión Robles, Corporate Manager of Environment, Safety and Occupational Health, who was accompanied by senior officials of the Company, as well as PROINVERSIÓN and Interbank.

All workers participated in the simulation. Its purpose was to keep updated the preparation of PETROPERU's collaborators on the proper way to behave in a real emergency situation and minimize possible personal injuries. Especially considering the recent occurrence of an 8-degree earthquake that occurred early Sunday morning in Loreto, which is the most intense so far this year worldwide, as well as lower intensity earthquakes on the central and southern coast of the country. country.

The start of the drill was communicated with the sound of sirens that alerted all the staff. Immediately the brigades were activated and left to take a position in their respective areas of action. During the development of the drill, compliance with the proposed evacuation plan was tested in accordance with the provisions of the INDECI, which consists of the correct signaling of the internal and external evacuation routes and zones, as well as the effective formation of brigades of first aid, relief and rescue.

The staff evacuated the facilities in an orderly manner, being able to appreciate the normal execution of emergency directives, verifying the full participation of those involved. In this way, all the personnel of the Company mobilized, demonstrating capacity for action and immediate response to emergency situations generated by an earthquake of great intensity.
