Winner of the Copé Award will share experiences in cultural activities in October

Historian David Quichua will present his 2020 winning essay at the Ayacucho Book Fair and poet Alonso Ruíz, winner of the Gold Copé Poetry Prize, will participate in the next edition of Copersaciones.

With the participation of students from the areas of influence of the different PETROPERÚ operations, the conference " Alimentos genéticamente modificados. Un debate ético a través de la vida de Hortense Dodo y Raquel Chan” (“Genetically modified foods. An ethical debate through the lives of Hortense Dodo and Raquel Chan") was held, led by Bachellor in Chemistry and Wellness Coach, Mariángel Paolini Padrón The presentation is part of the cycle of virtual conferences "To know is to love. Through women in STEM", organized by the PETROPERÚ Cultural Center.

The schoolchildren and teachers highlighted the development of this activity that aims to generate a debate on the issues that concern humanity, such as food in times of pandemic, encouraging among schoolchildren interest in research and debate to build a better world. The public will be able to access the presentation by entering the Facebook Live of the PETROPERÚ Cultural Center.

Continuing with the religious agenda, on Thursday, October 7, at 5:00 p.m., PETROPERÚ will present the winning essay for the 2020 Copé Prize, “De curaca a congresista. Vigencia de una familia indígena en la política nacional” (“From curaca to congressman. Validity of an indigenous family in national politics”), at the V International Book Fair of Ayacucho, which is taking place in the Main Square of Huamanga, offering a varied proposal of activities. Presenting the essay will be its author, historian and teacher David Quichua Chaico, along with prominent historian and anthropologist Luis Guillermo Lumbreras.

As every Friday, starting at 11:00 a.m., the cycle of conferences "Copersaciones de Oro" is held, dedicated to the winners of the Copé Poetry Award. This Friday, October 8, there will be the participation of the poet Alonso Ruíz Rosas, 1999 Gold Copé Award. The conduction will be in charge of the writer and teacher Juan Manuel Chávez and will include the comments of the Mexican writer Aline Doniz.

In this way, PETROPERÚ pays tribute to the main literary contest in the country, disseminates the writers selected from the contest for the new generations and consolidates its presence as a company committed for more than four decades to the dissemination of culture throughout the country.
