The president, James Atkins, highlighted the important support that Operations Conchán will offer to the new Talara Refinery when it enters into operation, since it will serve as a link for the commercialization of fuels both in Lima and other parts of the country. He also highlighted the technological advances that have been undertaken to improve the quality of products, such as the upcoming construction of a new laboratory.

The deputy minister of Hydrocarbons, Eduardo Guevara, in turn, was interested in the work being done in the refinery, while he noted the important work being done in the control room, which has high safety standards that guarantee an optimal management.

The visitors were received by the Deputy Manager of the Conchán Refinery, Gerardo León, who explained to them, during a tour, all the processes that are carried out to refine and produce high quality fuels. He also gave an advance of the main activities that will be carried out in the coming months, such as the increase of the storage capacity, the automation of the dispatch in the sales plant and the steps for the installation of a new multiboyas terminal, among others.

He reported that this refinery has a refining capacity of 15.5 MBD and produces solvents, gasoholes and diesel; as well as industrial fuels and asphalts, meeting international quality standards. He also pointed out that the Conchán Sales Plant is the first in sales volume of the Company, which is equivalent to 12% of the national market.

During the visit, the president of PETROPERU led a rapprochement meeting with a group of workers at the refinery. The Board of Directors met at the refinery facilities and will continue to implement its policy of decentralizing its meetings in the different operations of the Company.
