UNI students visited the Conchan Refinery

PETROPERU received a delegation of 22 students from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of the National University of Engineering, accompanied by a teacher, who made a guided visit to the Conchán Refinery, located in Lurín, south of Lima.

These visits show the interest of the main academic institutions of the country, specialized in hydrocarbons, in knowing the technical processes and certifications of the operations of the Company.

The future professionals received a technical talk on the process of oil refining by the Project Supervisor, Yazmín Córdova. Subsequently, the delegation toured the refinery facilities under the responsibility of the Processes Supervisor, Ricardo Márquez.

The industrial facility fulfills the function of processing, refining and storing products such as gasolines, solvents, Diesel 2, Diesel B5, industrial oils and asphalts of export quality.

For this purpose, the refinery has a Primary Distillation Unit of 15,500 barrels per day capacity and a Vacuum Distillation Unit of 10,000 barrels per day; besides laboratory and Sales Plant, among other dependencies. In total, it can store a total of 2.3 million barrels of liquid hydrocarbons.

The guided tours are activities that are part of the PETROPERU Social Management Policy, oriented towards integration with its stakeholders through the knowledge and dissemination of its operations, processes and activities in the hydrocarbon sector and the environment.
