UNI students updated their knowledge about the oil industry
A group of students from the last cycles of the School of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Petrochemical Engineering of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), visited the facilities of the Conchán Refinery and its sales plant to learn about the entire management process in the hydrocarbon industry.
During their visit, they toured the new laboratory, one of the most modern in the country, which uses state-of-the-art equipment to verify compliance with fuel quality specifications. There they observed the meticulous work of the staff to comply with the established technical standards.
They also visited the remodeled processing plant, where they learned about the entire hydrocarbon refining and production procedure, as well as the control room, where they appreciated the refinery's monitoring system, which works uninterruptedly, every day, 24 hours a day.
The future professionals also learned about the strategic location of the Conchán Refinery, its main products recognized for their quality and its large storage capacity to ensure fuel supply in Lima and the south of the country.
The tour ended at the sales floor, where they learned more about wholesale customer service and fuel distribution, which uses an automated and secure dispatch system.
The university students highlighted the development of these guided tours that contribute to complement the training received in the classrooms, deepening knowledge of the oil industry in the same facilities and with the help of professionals in the exercise of their functions.
