UNI students deepen their knowledge during visit to Conchán Refinery

Students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the National University of Engineering (UNI) visited the facilities of the Conchán Refinery where - on a guided itinerary - they were able to obtain greater scopes of the hydrocarbon industry management process.

The tour included an introduction and brief explanation of the refinery and its functions. The engineer Juan Jara, from the Process and Project Engineering Unit, explained to the university the refining work and the blending process, which consists of a mixture of the refined products with additives and components to obtain final products, such as fuels, asphalts, solvents, etc.

Likewise, the important role of PETROPERU in guaranteeing the supply of fuels at national level, even in the most remote places of our territory, was explained.

The students also learned about the careful process of storage and dispatch of different products, such as gasoline, diesel, solvents and asphalts, among others. The engineer Andrés Galiano, from the Operations Unit of the Operations Department, explained for his part the monitoring and surveillance work in the area of the control panel of the refinery, also offering them a scope on the operation that is carried out in the new plant of industrial effluent treatment, which meets the standards required by the competent regulatory bodies.

PETROPERU periodically conducts guided visits to its operations as part of its social management policy, which is geared towards integration with its stakeholders through the dissemination of the work it performs in its facilities, respecting the environment and the community.
