UNAP students deepen their knowledge during a visit to the Iquitos refinery
Students from the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana - UNAP visited the facilities of the Iquitos Refinery, of PETROPERÚ, where -in a guided itinerary- they were able to obtain greater scope of the management process of the hydrocarbon industry. They were also explained about the important role that the State company has in its role of guaranteeing fuel supply at the national level, even in the most remote places of our territory.
The university students were able to identify the activities of refining, distribution and transportation of crude oil and derivatives in the Amazon and the role of PETROPERÚ in activating the economic movement of the region.
The students also learned about the careful storage and dispatch process of the different products, such as gasoline, diesel, solvents, and asphalt, among others.
It should be noted that the state-owned company periodically conducts guided tours of its operations as part of its social management policy, which is geared towards integration with its stakeholders by disseminating the work it performs at its facilities, respecting the environment and community.
