Training and certification in 6G welding began for forty Talara locals

Forty metalworking workers in the province of Talara started the technical training program in manual welding GTAW and SMAW, to obtain the homologation certificate in ASME standard, Section IX and API 1104 standard, thanks to PETROPERU.

For three months, participants will receive a theoretical-practical training by specialist instructors of SENATI, with the objective of receiving their training and approval certificate and thus maximize their employment opportunities in companies that participate in the execution of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) or any national project.

During the opening ceremony, Beatriz Alva Hart, Corporate Manager Social Management and Communications of PETROPERU, highlighted the commitment of the state company to the execution of training programs and certification of work experience, in specialties with greater demand; those that in the last two years have allowed to benefit 172 Talarans, of which 85% have been able to reintegrate labor or start a career line in the companies for which they work.

He also requested the commitment of the participants to take advantage of this scholarship of continuing education and to complete it satisfactorily, in solidarity with the more than one hundred local applicants; and, above all, for the benefit of their professional and family growth.

It is important to emphasize that the forty beneficiaries went through a registration and pre-selection process that began last October and that included a period of qualified theoretical and practical reinforcement, a psychological interview and a practical evaluation of a welding test tube in 6G position to determine the order of merit of the forty benefited workers from Talara.

This activity is carried out in line with the Local Labor Recruitment Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the PMRT, which has an integral advance of over 84%.
