Third attack on the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline so far in 2025

Petroperú reports that today, March 19, a new attack was reported at kilometer 315 of Section II of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), near the Sinchi Roca indigenous community, in the Manseriche district, Datem del Marañón province, Loreto. This is the third attack against the ONP this year, following those that occurred in February at kilometers 385 and 376.

In accordance with the Contingency Plan, containment barriers were installed in the Pijuayal ravine and a grapple was bolted over the cut made by a third party, making the ONP operational again.

The incident has been reported to the Environmental Assessment and Oversight Agency (OEFA), the Energy and Mining Investment Supervisory Agency (OSINERGMIN), and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office (FEMA). A corresponding complaint will also be filed. The Public Prosecutor's Office and the Peruvian National Police are expected to verify the incident in the coming hours.

Petroperú urges authorities and law enforcement to take urgent measures to identify and punish those responsible for these criminal acts, which put the population, the environment, and the infrastructure of a Critical National Asset at risk.
