Petroperú promotes sustainability in the textile industry: Inca Tops reduces its carbon footprint with natural gas
The world's finest alpaca fiber is produced with natural gas from Petroperú

Inca Tops, a leading producer of alpaca yarn and clothing, has completed the connection of all its factories to the Petroperú natural gas distribution system in Arequipa. This transition has significantly reduced its carbon footprint, consolidating its position as one of the alpaca fiber producers with the lowest environmental impact worldwide.

Part of Grupo Inca since 1965, Inca Tops is committed to innovation and sustainability, measuring and reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the Peru Carbon Footprint platform. The recent connection to natural gas optimizes its energy efficiency and promotes cleaner combustion in its production processes.

Petroperú thus reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of southwestern Peru, bringing the benefits of natural gas to Arequipa's industry and promoting environmentally responsible practices, economic growth, and local employment.

Special commission

Commissioned by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Petroperú efficiently and responsibly manages the public natural gas service in the southwest, benefiting thousands of families in Arequipa, Moquegua, Ilo, and Tacna. Through the Specific Agreement for New Investments, it can also connect industrial and commercial customers with consumption greater than 300 m³/month. For more information, please call 054-270382.
