The winning books of the Cope 2017 Award were presented in Huancayo

The winning works of the 2017 Copé Award were presented at the III Huancayo International Book Fair 2018. The novel "El laberinto de los endriagos" by Hugo Yuen, and the collection of poems "Colección privada o los colores ocultos de la turbación" by Marco Antonio Quijano were commented by their own authors and analyzed by literary critics.

Also "La noche y su sombra" of Ernesto Zumarán; "Bajo la mancha azul del cielo" by Alejandro Susti; and Anthology of Poems of the Honorable Mentions and Finalists of the XVIII Biennial of Poetry, were presented in the auditorium of the Municipality of Huancayo.

The well-known writer and winner of the 1985 Copé de Cuento Award, Cronwell Jara Jimenez, highlighted the good use of the language of Hugo Yuen's novel, which, he added, captivates the reader by narrating an extremely fantastic story with great literary acuity.

For its part, the poet and cultural promoter, Alessandra Tenorio Carranza, highlighted the delicate and clean way in which Marco Quijano celebrated the painter Vincent Van Gogh, from a point of view different from what is already known of this remarkable artist.

After the presentation, copies of the winning books were handed out to the attendees, who in turn formed long lines to have these editions autographed by the authors themselves.

It should be noted that this activity reaffirms Petroperu's commitment to promote the decentralization of its cultural actions; Copé's winning works have also been presented in Lima and Piura, and in the coming months in Ilo, Iquitos and Cusco, among other important cities in the country.

The Copé Awardliterary contest and the publications of the winning works are part of PETROPERÚ's cultural policy to promote intellectual production, access to education and intercultural citizenship developed by the Company since 1979.

The Copé Award is organized in story and essay biennials (even years) as well as poetry and novels (odd years), which due to its prestige and importance occupy a preponderant place in the national literary circle. Since its creation, it has been one more expression of PETROPERÚ's corporate social responsibility.
