The winning books of the 2017 Copé Award were presented

After a meticulous editing process, through its Ediciones Copé label, PETROPERU will present to the public the novel "El laberinto de los endriagos", by Hugo Yuen, and the poems "Colección privada o los colores ocultos de la turbación", from Marco Antonio Quijano, winners of the first place of the Copé 2017 Award.

The second and third place winners will also be presented: "La noche y su sombra", by Ernesto Zumaran and "Bajo la mancha azul del cielo" by Alejandro Susti. Also, the "Antología de poemas de las Menciones Honrosas y Finalistas de la XVIII Bienal de Poesía".

Marco Martos, president of the Peruvian Academy of Language, will be in charge of the presentation of the works in the poetry category, while the novel will be commentated by Ricardo Gonzalez Vigil, outstanding academic and representative of literary criticism.

The appointment is on Tuesday, May 15 at 7 pm in the auditorium of the PETROPERU Cultural Center, Av. Enrique Canaval Moreyra 150, San Isidro. Copies of the books will be delivered to the attendees. Admission is free.

About the book "El laberinto de los endriagos" the qualifying jury states that an Amazonian microcosm is constructed through a language with many expressive resources, which invites multiple readings and labyrinths. With regard to the "Colección privada o los colores ocultos de la turbación", they point out that it represents a dialogue with Van Gogh's painting and approaches one of the icons of modern painting to dive into his unfortunate, but luminous subjectivity.

The Copé Prize literary contest and the publications of the winning works are part of PETROPERÚ's cultural policy to promote intellectual production, access to education and intercultural citizenship developed by the company since 1979.

This competition is organized in fairytale and rehearsal biennials (even years) as well as poetry and novels (odd years), which due to its prestige and importance occupies a preponderant place in the national literary circle. Since its creation, it has been one more expression of PETROPERU's corporate social responsibility.
