The public will be able to interact in "Aceite de Piedra" gallery of PETROPERÚ
- Admission will be completely free
A fun show where the visitors can interact with everything they see, touch, feel and, above all, learn more about the origin of hydrocarbons, will be open to the public tomorrow, Thursday, at the PETROPERU Cultural Center, at 7:30 pm.
This is the show "ACEITE DE PIEDRA", which will aim to connect the viewer with the oil industry. In this case, it is noteworthy that Stone (Petra) and Oil (Oleum) are the two Latin terms that we find in the etymology of the word petroleum, for which reason it is also called "Stone oil".
In the exhibition you can see a density mill, a drum with colored elastics, tubes to feel the texture of hydrocarbons, as well as projections and a number of activities that will explain the process in which humanity has generated new technologies that changed history forever. This way, it is noticeable that oil is the basis not only of fuels but of many materials necessary for daily life.
The exhibition, whose curatorship falls to the archaeologist Gabriela Bertone, is divided into seven stages and an artistic intervention, going from the origin of oil, its characteristics, derived products and even alternative energies.
The opening day will be Thursday 23, at 7:30 pm in the Art Room of PETROPERU, Av. Canaval y Moreyra 150, San Isidro. It should be noted that the exhibition will remain open to the public until January 20 of next year, Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Admission is TOTALLY FREE.
