The new Talara Modular Hospital will begin operations in September
PETROPERU and the Satec Aceromex S.A. Consortium - IRPM Latam S.A.C. signed, on July 24, 2020, the contract that marked the beginning of the assembly, installation and implementation service of the Modular Hospital that the state company will donate for the care of COVID-19 patients, as part of its social management and commitment with the province of Talara.
The signing of this contract was carried out after completing the selection and contracting process, with the delivery of the award to the aforementioned consortium, which will execute the service in 60 calendar days, for S/ 7,609,853.00 (seven million six hundred nine thousand eight hundred fifty-three with 00/100 soles).
Currently, the preliminary works are being carried out for the implementation of the Modular Hospital that will be located on the esplanade of the Hospital de Apoyo II of EsSalud, which will have a reference hospital area of 450 square meters and will have a service life of approximately 15 years.
The implementation of the hospitalization area with 30 beds for moderate COVID-19 patients and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the care of 15 seriously ill patients, will culminate in mid-September of this year.
The Modular Hospital will have modern medical equipment that includes pulmonary ventilators, automatic defibrillators, electrocardiographs, a central monitor for multiple beds and LED screens to display vital signs of patients, among others.
The operation and maintenance of the establishment will be in charge of ESSALUD, an institution that will assume the provision of professional and technical personnel, as well as supplies and medicines for the treatment of COVID-19. It is important to mention that, due to the health emergency that the country is going through, the establishment will be available to all patients with COVID-19 in Talara and will not limit its care only to insured patients.
