The Judiciary confirms actions taken by PETROPERÚ in a firm fight against corruption
In line with its Integrity System and the State's Anti-Corruption Policy, PETROPERÚ continues with the investigation process that began in 2019, which detected irregularities and inconsistencies in the procedures for the accountability of travel expenses granted to workers inside the country.
As a result of the investigations carried out by a team of external lawyers, PETROPERÚ, in strict compliance with the law, has fired 78 workers for systematic fraud to the detriment of the state company, to obtain travel expenses and economic benefits illegally, for which purpose they included information false in the invoices of various establishments presented in their accounts, inflating prices illegally.
In this regard, it is important to specify that the investigated workers had the opportunity to present their discharges, which were analyzed and verified in an objective and impartial manner, strictly complying with due process and acting within the current legal framework.
Notwithstanding this, a media campaign has begun to discredit the Company and its managers, with attacks and insults from some former workers whose motivation is to impact on their behalf in the actions of justice in the face of duly proven criminal acts.
PETROPERÚ rules out a policy of massive layoffs as it has been misinformed.
