The JINKAY school reinforcement program came to a successful completion

PETROPERÚ successfully completed the JINKAY Program, which aimed to strengthen the learning of schoolchildren from neighboring communities of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), in subjects such as Mathematics, Communication and Social Personnel.

There were seven months of work in the Fernando Rosas, Mayuriaga and Nazareth communities, located in Morona, Loreto region, in which 230 primary and secondary students benefited.

Jinkay, which means seed in the Wampis language, is a school reinforcement program in the main courses of regular basic education. Fernando Rosas students received 599 teaching hours, while 401 hours were taught in Nazareth and Mayuriaga.

This learning was complemented with workshops that helped them develop socio-emotional skills, achieving comprehensive strengthening in their learning.

To achieve the success of the program, an involvement strategy was designed for the teachers of the communities, who were accompanied and trained in pedagogical strategies. All this work was constantly supervised with visits to the classroom and work meetings were held with the teachers to learn about the progress of the program.

Additionally, pedagogical materials for school reinforcement were designed in line with the national curriculum in Spanish and Wampis, which was printed and delivered to the beneficiary students of the project.

To socialize the project in the communities and make families aware of the importance of strengthening their children's learning, home visits were carried out and the pedagogical process was explained with informative material, achieving their commitment to support this school development at home.

The Ministry of Education and the Regional Directorate of Education of Loreto were not oblivious to this work of PETROPERÚ, since they participated in virtual meetings where the program and its scope were announced.

The program was not only limited to learning in the classrooms, but also integrated playful activities such as graphic pieces and poems contests, as well as sports championships with the participation of children, parents and community authorities.

Once again, PETROPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to education for the benefit of the populations close to its operations, ensuring that children and young people have access to quality education, in accordance with their customs and respecting their environment.
