The homeland and PETROPERU are honored in ceremony and parade in Talara
At the flag raising ceremony of the National Flag and the Flag of Talara, in which the civil and military authorities participated, as well as the delegations of twenty-one colleges of the oil province, honors were paid to the Homeland on the 198th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence and PETROPERU for its 50th anniversary of institutional life.
The commemorative activity was held in the Plaza Grau of Talara, where the President of PETROPERU, Carlos Paredes Lanatta highlighted the unwavering commitment of the state oil company with this province, which - he said - “is not only reflected in its structural aspect but also in the identification with its development, which includes the involvement of the Company in works in health, education and environmental protection, always in close coordination with organizations linked to said items ”.
In that sense, Paredes Lanatta highlighted the implementation, together with the Provincial Municipality of Talara, of the program for cleaning critical points of solid waste in the Pariñas district, which will generate work and contribute to highlighting its tourism potential. He also highlighted the support that PETROPERU has been providing in the rehabilitation of the operating room of the Talara Health Center and the contribution to education through the ‘Quality Schools’ program in 22 educational institutions in the Pariñas district.
The senior official said that this is an important moment for the Company that continues with the construction of the new Talara Refinery and the return to the upstream. “We are sure that we will continue contributing to the growth of our country and, especially, to the province of Talara, which has marked important milestones in the development of PETROPERU, since its foundation, half a century ago,” he stated.
The authorities present thanked the permanent and constant support provided by the Company to the development of the province and, in that regard, agreed to continue working together for the progress of Talara and the country in general.
Anniversary Parade
The day continued with a colorful military-civic parade where students, teachers and managers of 21 secondary schools of Talara, the Peruvian Air Force and the Navy participated, as well as a delegation of workers and practitioners of PETROPERU, accompanied by the second promotion of young people awarded by the state company to study a technical career in Senati and a delegation of Talara women, who have been trained in productive technical workshops, as part of the PETROPERU Women in Action Program.
The parade concluded with the award of the Immaculate Educational Institution for having occupied the first place in the parade held. The ribbon for merit PETROPERU 50 years, was presented by Paredes Lanatta to the teacher and students of this emblematic school, in an atmosphere of excitement.
