The containment work is concluded and the remediation begins in the 213 km. of the North Peruvian Pipeline
In the framework of its contingency plan, PETROPERU continues with the environmental contingency works in the 213 Km. of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), district of Barranca, province of the Datem del Marañon, Loreto region.
As of July 17, 2016, the containment activities have been concluded, confining the spilt product through PVC barriers and containment walls, having recovered a total of 896 barrels of emulsified crude. Additionally, to date 1,303 sacks of soil and 139 sacks vegetation impregnated with hydrocarbon have been collected.
In order to optimize the remediation process, in the following days more personnel will enter the area of the event. The specialized international companies INMAC and LAMOR, world-class experts in this type of event, continued to support the environmental remediation activities.
PETROPERU ratifies its commitment with environmental preservation and has been working on the repair and remediation works in order to resolve this situation in the shortest time possible. On the same note, PETROPERU maintains its commitment to continue informing periodically on the progress of the repair and remediation works.
