The cleanup and remediation works in the 213 Km of the North Peruvian Pipeline continue
In the framework of its contention plan, PETROPERU continues with the repair, cleanup and remediation works of the environmental incident on the 213 Km of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), district of Barranca, province of the Datem del Marañón, Loreto Region.
To June 3, 2016, 267 barrels of emulsified crude barrels product of the spill have been recovered in bags, tanks and fast tanks.
As was informed previously, these works are being done by the INMAC and Larsen Marine Oil Recovery (LAMOR) specialized international companies, world-class experts in this type of event, who are supporting with the repair, crude recovery and environmental remediation.
There are currently 156 people (including PETROPERU personnel) were working on the hydrocarbon cleanup, confinement and recovery tasks, and the heliport has been built to speed up the works even more.
Additionally, in a preventive manner, to date 105 packages -which contain water and provisions- have been distributed to the registered settlers, in compliance with the accords established with the authorities of Barranca this past June 28.
PETROPERU reaffirms its commitment with the preservation of the environment and is working on the repair and remediation works to solve this event in the shortest time possible. Likewise, it continues to provide information to the supervising and auditing entities.
