The cleanup and recovery works of the crude in the 213 km of the North Peruvian Pipeline are progressing
In the framework of its contingency plan,PETROPERU continues with the repair, cleanup and remediation work for the environmental incident on the 213 Km. of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), the district of Barranca, province of the Datem del Marañon, Loreto region.
As of July 7, 2016, 432 barrels of emulsified crude have been recovered, product of the spill, in bags, tanks and fast tanks, as well as 513 bags of material (soil, brush, others) impregnated with crude. The following days, the recovery tasks of the emulsified crude should conclude.
The specialized international companies INMAC and LAMOR, world-class experts in this type of contingency, are helping with the repairs, crude recovery and environmental remediation. To that and, 174 people are working on the cleanup, containment and hydrocarbon recovery tasks, as well as the habilitation of the facilities in the area.
In order to optimize the remediation process, more personnel will enter the event area in the following days.
PETROPERU ratifies its commitment with environmental preservation and has been working on the repair and remediation works in order to resolve this situation in the shortest time possible.
