The blockade in the Marañón River affects the fuel supply in the jungle
Petroperú informs the following:
In light of the blockade in the Marañón River by residents of the town of Concordia who are making a series of demands to the regional government of Loreto, Petroperú has been forced to stop operations with the Rey 2 convoy and the Río Pisqui barge. Both were on the Yurimaguas-Iquitos Refinery route, transporting 5.3 MB of 90 octane gasoline.
The state oil company also has scheduled the movement of the Rey 7 convoy and the Río Urubamba barge, with 6.0 MB of 90 octane gasoline, along the same route. Since the river remains blocked, it is impossible to unload these fuels, which are vital for the sale of regular gasoline and 84 octane gasoline.
The company urges the authorities to find a solution to this situation in order to guarantee the supply of essential fuels for economic activity in the region.
