Team of experienced professionals will provide technical support for the start-up of the New Talara Refinery

As part of the beginning of the work prior to the start-up of the New Talara Refinery, PETROPERÚ has formed a working committee, which will have the mission of providing support and technical support during the progressive start-up of the new refining complex, starting next April.

PETROPERÚ professionals who are part of this committee have extensive experience in the hydrocarbon industry and, from December to June 2022, will contribute their experience acquired in the Company, leading highly complex teams and participating in highly relevant technical activities such as shutdowns, start-up and stabilization of industrial plants.

The team. led by the General Manager of PETROPERÚ, Hugo Chávez Arévalo, it is made up of Óscar Vera Gargurevich, Corporate Operations Manager; Gaspar Díaz Tello, Selva Refinery Dept. Manager; José Ignacio Dueñas Luján, Conchán Refinery Dept. Manager; Renzo Higa Chávez, Head of Operations of the Conchán Refinery Dept. Management; Mario Salas Cruz, Process Engineering Supervisor of the Conchán Refinery Dept. Management; José María Sánchez Quintana, Process Risk Control Supervisor of the Conchán Refinery Dept. Management; and Arnaldo Espinoza Dioses, Chief Operations Officer of the Selva Refinery Dept. Management.

In this way, PETROPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to start up the New Talara Refinery, adding this working committee to the start-up tasks that will be in charge of the project executing companies and the licensors of the different units that are part of this complex industrial, to ensure a progressive and safe start from next April.

New Talara Refinery

The New Talara Refinery will consist mainly of 16 Processing Units and 5 Auxiliary Units and facilities packages. It will be a highly complex and deep conversion facility with technology patented by the most recognized companies in the refining industry such as: EXXON Mobil (USA), Axens (France), UOP (USA) and Haldor Topsoe (Denmark). Its comprehensive construction progress to date is 96.59%.
