Talara women trained by PETROPERU receive seed capital to start their businesses
Eleven women from Talara, graduates of the productive workshops that the National Training Service in Industrial Work (SENATI), commissioned by PETROPERU, received seed capital equivalent to S/ 3,000 after defending their business initiatives before a jury of experts in business entrepreneurship.
This way, the new businesswomen have a business capital in goods, tools and work material, which will allow them to start their economic initiative and improve their income and living conditions. To compete for this business capital, the graduates of the aforementioned workshops had to register an attendance above 80% in the courses, pass them with a minimum grade of 14, have designed and supported a viable business project to be executed in the short term and build their company.
The women who graduated from the 2017 Training Program are: Cinthia Yanet Mogollón Carbonell, from the Gastronomy course; Silvia Margoth Pumachay Ruiz, of Crochet; Rosa Elena López Amaya, from the Marine Crafts course, and Lizbeth Catherine Paz Tinoco, from the Jewelry course. After presenting and defending their business projects, they are prepared to put them in motion and thus improve their quality of life and that of their family.
They are joined by Adelita Castillo Maldonado, a graduate of the Kitchen Assistant Workshop; Denisse Francesca Macalupú Cruz, of the Bakery course; Karoly Zuleyka Dioses Vargas, from the Crochet workshop; María Victoria Paiva Chunga, from Textile Stamping; Saba Luzmilla Fernández Vilela, from the Crafts workshop; Jenny Katerine Puse Ayala, from Cosmetology and Nathalie Mayhualida Bernales Moscol, from the Marine Crafts workshop who, after participating in the training program during 2018, will focus their entrepreneurial capacity thanks to the training and support granted by the state company.
This technical-productive training program is part of the commitments of the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project, through which, in 2018, 140 women were trained for 7 months in 7 workshops: kitchen auxiliary, bakery and pastry, textile printing, crafts, cosmetology, crochet and marine crafts.
The technical training included 120 hours of business management courses for the creation and formalization of Micro and Small Enterprises. During this year, the training will include a monitoring phase and ongoing counseling for 6 months to ensure the development of their business in the local market, allowing them to generate their own income and improve their quality of life.
