Talara women show their talent on IV Entrepreneurship Fair

As part of its commitment to economic development and local entrepreneurship, PETROPERÚ inaugurated the IV Entrepreneurship Fair "Women in Action", which has the participation of the ladies from Talara who are being trained in the productive workshops dictated by the National Training Service in Industrial Work (Senati) commissioned by the state company.

The IV Fair "Women in Action" was held in the Plaza Grau of Talara from November 21 to 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In this attractive space, the local entrepreneurs displayed and sold the products they made based on what they learned in the productive workshops, among which we can find handicrafts made with marine materials, crochet-knit garments and a variety of crafts for the home and end of year parties. Hair cutting and other personal care services are also offered, as well as different typical dishes and desserts for the delight of the attendees.

The public that attends can participate in the practical workshops of gastronomy, crafts and cosmetology. You can also see the crochet, silk screen and cosmetology competitions, as well as a catwalk with the best fabrics for children and adults.

On this occasion, a space has also been offered for the exhibition and sale of products made by local artisans and the inmates of the Sullana Women's Prison.

Businesswomen

In 2017, PETROPERU started the training of 80 women from Talara for them to generate their own income that contributes to the economy of their homes. Currently, there are 4 businesses formalized in crochet fabric, marine crafts, gastronomy and jewelry, which are financed by 'Seed Capital' provided by the state company.

This year, as part of the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan (PRC) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), 140 Talara women began productive technical training in cooking, baking and confectionary, textile printing courses , crafts, cosmetology, crochet and marine crafts. These trainings will last one year and will be complemented by advisory services for the creation and formalization of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and the implementation of their business plans.
