In order to strengthen the productive and technical capacities of Talara women, Petroperú, as part of its social management work, will provide free training in gastronomy and computer science to 40 of them, who will later be able to promote their business projects.

The training courses, which will be conducted by the educational institution SENATI, will have a duration of 240 instruction hours, which will be permanently supervised to guarantee an optimal learning process.

In gastronomy, they will learn various types of cuisine, such as Creole, fusion and international, as well as pastries, cocktails and Christmas buffets, among others. The computer course includes training in Office, digital marketing and electronic communication.

In addition, the teaching program includes other benefits, such as the delivery of manuals and study material, an accident policy for each participant, mobility for the transfer of the students, uniforms and personal protection equipment.

With the technical-productive training of the residents of the Sacobsa urbanization, an area of influence for the construction work of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) electric transmission line, Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to the population of Talara, helping to promote their business initiatives and generating employment or self-employment options that have a positive impact on their quality of life and their environment.

Promoting empowerment

Since 2017, Petroperú has trained 200 women from Talara in technical-productive workshops. In 2019, it recognized the eleven best business projects with seed capital to start their entrepreneurial projects.

Likewise, the eleven women microentrepreneurs received courses in business management for the creation and formalization of Micro and Small Enterprises (MYPES) and in recent years they have been part of a permanent monitoring and advice phase, to guarantee the development of their entrepreneurship in the local market.
