Since the beginning of operations, the Talara Modular Hospital that PETROPERÚ donated to ESSALUD, for the benefit of the population of the oil province, has been fulfilling a strategic role in the fight against COVID-19, providing care to more than 10,000 patients.

This was announced by the Director of the ESSALUD Talara II Hospital, Ricardo Zúñiga Vallejos, during the coordination meeting he held with the Western Social Management Manager of PETROPERÚ, Tomás Flores Noriega, specifying that in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital Modular Talara has provided specialized care to 144 seriously ill patients; 535 moderate patients have made use of the hospitalization area and 9,300 have gone through the process of evaluating their health status and ruling out COVID-19 (triage).

Ricardo Zúñiga indicated that the medical establishment that began operations in December of last year, is, to date, operating at its maximum capacity to care for COVID-19 patients, for which he invoked the population not to lower their guard, maintaining biosafety measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, such as the correct use of the mask, social distancing and frequent hand washing.

The modern Talara Modular Hospital has a total capacity of 45 beds for the treatment of COVID 19 patients (30 hospital beds for the care of moderate patients and 15 ICU beds) and its operation by ESSALUD has been contributing to face the pandemic by COVID-19, through universal care, that is to insured and uninsured patients.

Tomás Flores highlighted the effort and dedication of ESSALUD's medical staff, nurses and technicians to provide care to hospitalized patients. "Through the monitoring center I have been able to see the different environments inside the hospital, where you can see the intense work being done by the staff in charge of treating COVID-19 patients," he added.

Likewise, the official reported that PETROPERÚ has been coordinating with the local and health authorities the implementation of other actions that contribute to the fight against the pandemic in this province of Piura, with which the state company has demonstrated its active and constant solidarity.
