PETROPERU opened its tenth entrepreneurship fair "Women in Action" in which for six days the new Talarean microentrepreneurs, trained and who received initial financing from the state company, will exhibit and sell their best jobs.

Among the participating microentrepreneurs is Denisse Macalupú, owner of the company "Denisse, un dulce detalle", who has implemented her own fine pastry shop and recently won the second place in the contest "The best Cake Designer in Piura". She has been invited by a local institute to train more people in this specialty.

Also present will be Jenny Puse, trained in cosmetology and now has her beauty salon and offers personal care services at competitive prices.

In the same way, Silvia Pumachay, owner of the company "Tejidos a crochet Alexa", who through a social media marketing strategy drives her handmade clothing business.

They and eight more entrepreneurs of gastronomy, marine crafts, crafts, textile printing and bakery will be gathered from September 16 to 21 in the Plaza Grau of the city, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in a space of impulse to local entrepreneurship and empowerment of Talara women. Admission is free.

Also, in coordination with the Deputy Manager of Tourism Development of the Provincial Municipality, this fair will feature five local artisan associations: Rutas del Sol, Eleazar Marky, San José Obrero, UMEP Talara y Artes Clave, as part of the activities that the local government has been promoting the Talara Tourist Week and that PETROPERÚ supports as part of its commitments established in the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project.

Promoting entrepreneurship

PETROPERU has trained more than 200 Talara women in technical-productive workshops allowing them to generate their own income.

There are currently 11 formalized businesses which had an initial financing granted by PETROPERU, in January of this year, and support through monitoring and advice on business management to guarantee the development of their ventures.
