Talara locals enjoyed third symphonic concert
Thanks to the initiative of PETROPERU and the Philharmonic Society of Lima (SFL), flutist Daniel Cueto and guitarist Álvaro Mendizábal first came to Talara to offer a duet recital and captivate attendees with a varied program that included musical pieces of the main composers of the classic, Andean and tango styles.
The Javier Pérez de Cuéllar Auditorium was the scene of this free admission concert and that PETROPERU programmed as part of the activities to promote art and culture that the state-owned company carries out in Talara, where the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT).
During their presentation, Peruvian musicians provided information on the composers and the pieces to be performed, gestures that the public appreciated and acknowledged with applause after each performance and personal thanks to the musicians. "We are very happy to be in Talara, we thank PETROPERU for making our presence possible and we hope to meet you again soon," said flutist Daniel Cueto.
Young interpreters enjoy a respectable career. Daniel Cueto is a composer and flutist, professor of music theory and analysis at the Universities of Music of Detmold and Cologne (Germany) and Álvaro Mendizábal is a tireless promoter of classical guitar, in addition to working for one of the leading artistic agencies (IMG Artists - New York). In this way, PETROPERU and the SFL will continue to join forces to bring art and culture to the whole country, offering free first-class recitals.
Music and Art in Talara
During 2018, PETROPERU and the SFL, in a joint initiative, organized two free admission concerts in the Auditorium of the House of Youth in Talara Alta. The first, in July, by the Peruvian guitarist Juan Carlos Arancibia and the Hungarian flute player Anita Farkas; while the second, held in September, was starring Claudio Constantini from Peru who delighted the local audience with the bandoneon.
