Talara environment is within the permitted environmental standards
In line with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), the Communal Committee for Socio-Environmental Monitoring (CCMSA) – made up of representatives of civil society from Talara – informed the community of the results of environmental monitoring carried out in the period from July to September of this year.
In the socialization meetings, in which different representatives of the PMRT interest groups participated, it was reported that the results of the monitoring of water, air, noise and hydrobiological quality are within the environmental quality standards (ECA) current.
In accordance with the commitments established in the EIS, air quality and hydrobiological monitoring is carried out quarterly, noise quality monitoring biweekly, and water quality monitoring is carried out monthly.
It is important to point out that the members of the CCMSA are constantly trained in environmental and social matters, in order to acquire and strengthen their knowledge about the indicators of the evaluation of the environmental components, which will allow them to make a correct interpretation of the results obtained in each monitoring.
The work of the members of the CCMSA is focused on monitoring, verification and socialization of environmental monitoring activities, and the results obtained. Their work is carried out in line with Petroperú's commitment to maintain and protect the environment in their areas of influence.
