Successful presentation of PETROPERÚ at the 8th International Trujillo Book Fair 2019
PETROPERU had an outstanding participation in the most recent edition of the Trujillo International Book Fair, which paid tribute to the centenary of the death of traditionalist Ricardo Palma.
Within this literary context, the winning works of the 2018 Copé Award were successfully presented: “Adagios. Crítica del presente desde una ciencia melancólica”, by Ciro Alegría Varona and “La piel fría y los cuentos ganadores y finalistas de la XX Bienal de Cuento Premio Copé 2018” by Stuart Flores and other writers. Both titles were attended by the authors and were commented on by the renowned literary critic Ricardo González Vigil.
Likewise, “21 Relatos sobre la Independencia del Perú” was presented by the compiler José Donayre. This title brings together 21 stories that recreate different episodes of the emancipatory deed. The work, by Ediciones Copé, was also commented by Ricardo González Vigil. It should be noted that it is the first Peruvian publication to receive the Bicentennial Seal and has also opened the PETROPERU Bicentennial Collection.
In the two presentations PETROPERU developed in Trujillo, it was possible to attract the interest of hundreds of attendees, who received a copy of each book as a courtesy.
This year the Copé Award celebrates 40 years of constant work to promote literary creation, as well as the promotion of reading through the publication and distribution of works in our literature. Thus, the state oil company reaffirms its commitment to promote decentralized access to culture as part of its Cultural Management Plan.
