Successful concert of criolla and folklórica music took place
The “Sonantes, Cantantes y Danzantes” concert, organized by PETROPERU and the José María Arguedas National Higher School of Folklore (ENSFJM), was carried out successfully, and was held in the auditorium of the Cultural Center of the Company.
The artistic presentation was inaugurated by the Head of the Cultural Management Unit of PETROPERU, Carlos Del Águila, who recognized the academic and cultural work of the school. Likewise, recognition was made to 10 members in the ceremony “Remarkable Graduates 2019” of the ENSFJM who are teachers and graduated artists who managed to position themselves in the pedagogical, artistic and cultural field, nationally and internationally.
During the show there were various artists such as the Creole singer, Rosa Guzmán, who was recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a Meritorious Personality of Culture; the co-founder of Peru Negro, Lalo Izquierdo; the dancer, Jorge Talaviña; the musician, Tito Manrique; Ancashino guitarist and composer, Marino Martínez; the Repiqueteo Collective by Héctor Arévalo and Arturo Benavides, and the National Ensemble of Dances and Folk Music of Peru.
The ENSFJM thanked the support of the state oil company in spreading Peruvian folklore, in addition to remembering its work since 1949, where the operation was authorized under the name of "Escuela de Música y Danza Folklórica Peruana", thanks to the initiative of the remembered teacher Rosa Elvira Figueroa. But it is since 1988 that it has the power to grant the title to Name of the Nation.
In this way PETROPERU contributes to spread the diversity of dances and music of the country, promoting the validity of these cultural expressions among citizens and new generations.
