Students of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería visited the work of the Conchán Refinery

Students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería visited the facilities of our Conchán Refinery today to learn more about the processing of fuels, as well as the environmental management that is carried out.

The engineer Jorge Aquino of the Process and Project Engineering Unit explained to them about the technical refining and blending procedures to achieve high quality fuels and, at the same time, take care of the environment, since they contain a low sulfur content.

Students also learned about the distillation systems of the primary and vacuum units, which produce 15,000 barrels of fuel per day. In addition, the important work carried out at the Conchán Sales Plant, which is the first in sales volume of the Company, was highlighted.

Subsequently, the students met the control panel of the refinery, where the engineer Edson Curro of the Processes Unit of the Operations Department explained to them about the monitoring and surveillance work that is done from there to the entire refinery.

Also, he told them about the environmental monitoring carried out to measure the quality of air, water and soil, and that are developed by external companies; which, in addition, have the participation of a community group, which observes and verifies the results obtained.

PETROPERU carries out these technical visits to its operations as part of its Social Management Plan, which is oriented towards integration with its stakeholders through the dissemination of the work carried out in its facilities, respecting the environment and the community.
