More than 150 students from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI) attended the talk “Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT)", where they learned more about the processes, advances, and economic, social and environmental benefits of this important work of infrastructure.

The presentation, which was led by Juan Jose Burga, head of the Talara Refining Mechanical Unit, is part of the "Thursday of Engineering", academic meetings organized by the UNI to share, analyze and disseminate information of interest among its students.

The Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the UNI was the scene that brought together students and teachers from various faculties, who could know details of the PMRT, which will incorporate new processes of refining to produce cleaner fuels and preserve, with it, the quality of air and reduce the health expenditure of Peruvians.

The university students could also learn about the main components of the project, such as the complementary works and works, the process units and the auxiliary units. In addition, of the activities of social management that are realized for the civil society of Talara.

In this way, PETROPERU joins other leading companies in the hydrocarbons, mining, electric and mechanics sectors, among others, which have participated in the conferences organized by UNI to promote technological knowledge among its students.

This conference is the framework of PETROPERU's policy of transparency and communication and as part of its activities to disseminate the characteristics of this megaproject to students of engineering, as well as to promote the approach to the process of the hydrocarbons industry and, specifically, that of refining.
