Students from native communities strengthen their academic performance

The Jinkay educational project, which Petroperú is promoting in the native communities of Arutam, Fernando Rosas, Nueva Musa Kandashi and Nazareth -located in the district of Morona, province of Datem del Marañón, Loreto region- near the facilities of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), is already showing very positive results.

After the first stage of the project's execution, focused on school reinforcement, the participating students, both in primary and secondary school, have shown significant improvements in the learning process in the courses of mathematics, communication and social work, thanks to the applied study methodology, the permanent dedication of the teachers and the involvement of the parents.

Thus, the average improvement in learning in the subjects has been exceeded by more than one hundred percent since the beginning of the project and it is expected that this progress will continue in the classrooms. The pedagogical strategies implemented, the innovative and personalized approach, which promote the teaching of classes in the Wampis language—original to the project communities—have also been key factors in facilitating teaching.

It is important to note that these positive results not only reflect academic progress, but also the personal growth of the students and the better relationship with their families, who have demonstrated a remarkable capacity for participation in the education of their children.

Jinkay is an initiative dedicated to strengthening education in the native communities bordering the ONP, offering innovative teaching tools and methods that seek a student-centered approach to empower young people and prepare them to face the challenges of the future with confidence and competence.
