Students from different universities of the country visited the Conchán Refinery

A group of students from the processes of Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical, Gas and Petroleum from different universities in Lima and the interior of the country visited the facilities of our Conchán Refinery today.

Thus, students from the National Engineering University, from the National University of San Antonio de Abad del Cusco, from the University of Callao, from the National University of Central Peru (Huancayo) and from the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (Iquitos), were able to learn more about the process of the hydrocarbon industry.

The engineer Juan Jara, who was in charge of the technical talk, detailed the work of production and supply of fuels through its refining and blending processes. As well as the steps that are carried out for the storage and dispatch of the products, the treatment that is applied to the effluents and the maintenance of the industrial plants.

Subsequently, the students visited the control panel and learned more about the production scheme carried out in the primary and vacuum distillation units. Also, on the elaboration of the main products, such as gasoline, solvents, diesel, industrial oils and asphalts, among others, thanks to the explanation provided by the engineer Andrés Galiano.

Visitors participate in the IV Petroleum Technical Week, organized by the SPE Student Chapter of the National University of Engineering, which summons every year students from different houses of studies in the country to exchange experiences and knowledge, as well as to make technical visits to the companies.

PETROPERU periodically conducts guided visits to its operations as part of its social management policy, which is geared towards integration with its stakeholders through the dissemination of the work carried out at its facilities, respecting the environment and the community.
