Statement 31-2017
  1. Yesterday the Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic, saw the presentation of the final report, approved by majority, of the Multiparty Investigative Commission to determine the responsibilities of the officials and natural persons and public and private institutions that are responsible for the oil spills that occurred in the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline, presided by congressman César Villanueva Arévalo, the same one that investigated the 2008-2016 period.
  2. Among the main conclusions of this report, it indicates to have identified presumed responsibilities of State Institutions and PETROPERU, as well as of their officials. Similarly, it recommends adopting measures to sanction and correct these responsibilities, requesting the Prosecutor's Office, Public Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic to investigate the case.
  3. In view of these conclusions, it is important to highlight that, since the creation and installation of the Investigating Commission, PETROPERU has been participating in the sessions to which it has been summoned and delivering the abundant information requested in a transparent manner, with full availability and the corresponding responsibility, with the objective of contributing to the objectives established by this Commission of Inquiry.
  4. Also, taking into account the conclusions presented in the Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic, the Company is preparing the corresponding depositions with the aim of contributing to the correct clarification of the facts investigated, which will be sent to the Congress of the Republic.
  5. PETROPERÚ has been implementing a policy of Transparency of Information, so it will continue to communicate to the public the results of these actions.
