Ship affected Petroperú's liquid cargo dock in Talara

On February 10, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the BT CARAL vessel, which was moored at dock 2, spilled ballast water with waste into the sea; this fact was noted by Petroperú personnel, who requested that the vessel stop its deballasting operation.

Immediately after identifying the event, Petroperú activated its contingency plan, beginning cleaning work with absorbent material using smaller vessels.

It should be noted that this event was communicated and reported to the competent authorities to carry out an exhaustive investigation and establish the causes and responsibilities.
