Schoolchildren visit the Conchán Refinery and learn about its strategic role
More than fifty students from the Max Uhle school, in Villa El Salvador, took a guided tour of the facilities of the Petroperú Conchán Refinery, where they were able to see the oil refining process in accordance with the standards and the corresponding controls of the regulations in our country.
The objective of the activity was to make the students aware of the execution of the hydrocarbon refining activity within a responsible production process, receiving a detailed explanation of its history and evolution over time, through a photographic exhibition on the occasion of the 50 years’ anniversary of the refinery.
The schoolchildren showed great interest in the different types of professionals required by a hydrocarbon company, receiving responses from each of the exhibitors in charge of the visit. In addition, information was provided on hydrocarbon refining, storage, and marketing processes.
Regarding safety, the young people, accompanied by their teachers, visited the fire station; explaining the treatment and control of fire, as well as the different response plans that Petroperú has in case of an emergency.
