Schoolchildren learn about the strategic role of the New Talara Refinery

Through a series of presentations and activities, more than 1,700 high school students from Talara public schools have received information about the operation of the New Talara Refinery (NRT) and the social management actions carried out in the area.

Through the program Knowing My New Talara Refinery, carried out by the Office of Information and Citizen Participation of the state oil company, students deepened their knowledge of the processes for the production of cleaner fuels, as well as the strategic role it plays in the country.

As part of the program, students and teachers have acquired knowledge about the evacuation plan for the areas surrounding the NRT; reinforcing the identification of the sound of sirens and discovering zero points in the event of a possible industrial emergency.

This initiative —carried out with students from different educational institutions in the districts of Pariñas and La Brea, such as the José Pardo y Barreda, Domingo Savio and María Reina de la Paz schools— also sought to learn about the students' concerns related to the NRT.

In this way, Petroperú continues to promote spaces for information and active communication with the population, seeking to strengthen its ties with the community, listening to their opinions and addressing their concerns.
