School students highlight the importance of the PMRT in interescolar competition of literary essays

PETROPERU recognized the high school students of the province of Talara who occupied the first three places in the Literary Essay Contest II held by the state company and this year had as its theme: "The PMRT as a growth engine in Talara."

The contest, which counted with the participation of 24 students from the different educational institutions, aimed to motivate among the students the research on the benefits of the new Talara Refinery, the most important mega-energy project in the country with an advance of more than 71% .

The student of the fifth grade of the Parroquial Educational Institution Santa Rosa de Lima, Gianfranco Gabriel Olivos Nolasco, occupied the first place with the literary essay entitled "The impact of the PMRT on the social and economic development of Talara and the country".

"This contest aroused in us curiosity about the Talara Refinery Modernization Project and made us aware of the national reality. No doubt this project is very important for our region and the country," said Olivos Nolasco, who says he hopes that his essay will help Peruvians know the benefits of the PMRT.

The student received a diploma and medal from the first place, as well as a state-of-the-art computer, multifunction printer and a desk. His advising teacher Mariela Bayona García received a Smart TV as prize. The school was given a laptop, a multimedia projector and an ecran.

The second place was won by the student María Fernanda Troncozo Centurión from the fifth year of secondary education at the Punta Arenas Educational Institution, with the literary essay "Faced with criticism, few get up". Troncozo Centurión received a diploma and a medal, as well as a tactile laptop and a multifunction printer. His advisor was also awarded with a television.

The third place was Gracia Pérez Núñez, student of the Punta Arenas Educational Institution with the essay "PMRT: Betting on development". The student received a diploma, medal and a laptop as recognition.

The engineer Jorge Alméstar Mauricio, Manager of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project, highlighted the participation of the students of the Talara schools and congratulated the winners who, through the works, contribute to make known to the community the importance of this energy mega project they are running in Talara. In the same way, the Director of the UGEL Talara, Carmelita Abad Meca, urged the awarded students to continue doing quality work as those who have submitted to the contest, in which relevant messages are transmitted, making use of their creativity and judgment critical.
