Scholarship holders from Talara from technical careers traveled to Lima and Cajamarca to continue their training

After completing the first stage of theoretical studies in virtual mode, the 120 young people from Talara who received full scholarships in technical careers from PETROPERÚ traveled to the headquarters of the Mining Technological Center - CETEMIN, in the cities of Cajamarca and Lima to continue their intensive educational training under a new immersion methodology validated by the Ministry of Education (MINEDU).

This methodology is based on a boarding school in which they receive their classes, carry out their tasks, practices and develop pre-professional projects.

Prior to the trip, the students participated in a closing ceremony of the virtual training stage that began in October 2021, receiving their diplomas that accredited them to continue their studies in person with all expenses paid.

As part of the scholarship, students are trained in technical English and participate in an employability program that will prepare them to face personnel selection processes, in addition to being included in the calls made by labor platforms such as Laborum and Manpower.

At the end of their studies, the scholarship holders will obtain their technical degree on behalf of the Nation in careers widely required in the industrial, oil and mining sectors, such as: Environment; Heavy Equipment Maintenance; Electrical Maintenance and Instrumentation; Risk Prevention, Safety and Occupational Health; Metallurgical and Chemical Processes; Mine Exploitation; and finally the career of Geology and Explorations.

The delivery of full scholarships for higher education is a continuous contribution made by PETROPERÚ. It is important to remember that, between 2013 and 2020, the state company carried out the training and certification process for 186 young people from Talara in technical careers, managing to enter the labor market.

This initiative is part of the Social Management actions of the state oil company, included in the Social Investment line of action as part of the Education component of the Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT).
