Rains and fallen bridges delay arrival of Oxygen Plant in Saramiriza

PETROPERU assumed the commitment with DIRESA Loreto to install the Oxygen Plant in Saramiriza, Datem del Marañón Province.
Rains and fallen bridges delay arrival of Oxygen Plant in Saramiriza

PETROPERÚ dispatched the Oxygen Plant from Lima to the Datem del Marañón province in the Loreto Region, but it has not yet been able to arrive due to the interruption of the Bagua - Saramiriza highway, due to the fall of bridges and landslides of mud and stones, caused by the torrential rains that are registered in the area.

After its arrival in Peru from France, the oxygen plant began its journey from Lima and should have arrived today, to proceed with its installation and operation to meet the demand for medicinal oxygen in the area, but the collapse of bridges prevented its passage and it was not able to reach its final destination, Saramiriza.

In this sense, for security reasons and while the viability of the area is recovered, the Oxygen Plant will remain in Station 6 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) under protection. It is worth mentioning that the donation of the plant is for the Datem del Marañon Health Network, in accordance with the efforts made by the Regional Health Directorate (DIRESA) of Loreto.

It is expected that the entities in charge of equipping the roads will proceed to leave the road operational to finalize the installation of the Medicinal Oxygen Plant in Saramiriza, for the benefit of the populations located within the ONP's scope.

The plant will be under the administration of the DIRESA of Loreto and will be installed in a location assigned by the District Municipality of Manseriche, which has joined these actions in favor of its population.

The PETROPERU Social Management Management, in coordination with the DIRESA of Loreto, carried out various actions to make it possible for this modern medicinal oxygen plant to be installed without major setbacks in the Datem del Marañón province; but, at the moment, nature is not allowing it.

With these actions, PETROPERU maintains firm compliance with its Social Management Policy and, on this occasion, joins the effort of the health system to contain the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, allowing it to provide attention to the needs of the residents of localities and native communities located in the ONP's area of influence.
