PETROPERU informs the public of the following:

1. At 8:10 a.m. today, Wednesday, August 19, 2020, a fire threat arose inside Tank NL 2002, which is out of service due to scheduled general maintenance.
2. After the incident was reported, the Talara Refinery Emergency Plan was immediately activated, proceeding with the preventive evacuation of the personnel who were working in the surrounding areas, while the Talara Refinery Fire Brigades proceeded to put out the fire.
3. The incident was fully controlled and ended at 8:18 a.m., with no personal injuries and without affecting the Talara Refinery operations or the execution of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project construction work.
4. In addition to having initiated the corresponding investigations, the Company has been informing the competent authorities of the status of the situation described.
