President of PETROPERU visited the construction work of the New Talara Refinery

The President of the Board of PETROPERU, Dr. Carlos Paredes Lanatta, made a work visit to the facilities of Talara Refinery, where he verified the progress of the works of the process units, auxiliary units and complementary services that are being built as part of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT).

During the tour, Paredes Lanatta was accompanied by the General Manager, Eng. Esteban Bertarelli Bustamante, the PMRT Manager, Eng. Jorge Alméstar Mauricio. Also present were the managers of the Técnicas Reunidas and Cobra SCL contractors, as well as the representatives of the PMC and Deloitte Talara consortiums, in charge of the supervision and management of the PMRT, respectively.

During the visit, progress was made in the construction of the diesel hydrotreating plant (HTD), which will allow the removal of sulfur from diesel, improving its quality. Subsequently, the civil works that are being carried out in the area where the hydrogen production and purification plant (PHP) will be built were verified. To date, the PMRT has an integral advance of 75%.

During the visit, Paredes Lanatta met with the mayor, Eng. José Vitonera, ratifying the commitment of the State Company with the oil city, through the execution of programs and projects that continue to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people of Talamanca. Later, he visited the SENATI classrooms, where 110 young people from Talara study a technical career, thanks to the scholarships offered by PETROPERU.
