Poetry Workshop in times of pandemic
Within the framework of its vast cultural programming, in times of pandemic, PETROPERU will hold, starting next Friday the 9th, a new Poetry Workshop, seeking to awaken interest in prose, in a less solemn way and closer to everyday life.
The conference, called " Trazos de los dedos silenciosos, regarding the poetry of Luis Hernández" seeks to deepen - from the work of one of the references of Peruvian poetry - the close link between the word and plastic resources and artistic. Likewise, poetic texts will be analyzed and the relationships between writing and various graphic resources will be found.
The prominent poet and researcher Becky Urbina, who in 2014 won the “Scriptura” Women's Poetry Contest, will be in charge of developing the workshop, which will run on four Thursdays in October, from 6:00 to 8: 00pm.
The name of the workshop alludes to one of the publications of the poet Luis Hernández, published by PETROPERU in 1995 and which shows the work of the creators of writing in a world of uncertainty, such as the one we live today.
In the Thursday sessions, an approach will be made to the poetics and particularities of the outstanding Peruvian poet who, despite only publishing three short poems, achieved a place among the greatest national poets, being one of the first to incorporate the humor and metatextual quotes in Peruvian prose.
In addition to reading, analyzing and discussing Hernández's work, each participant will be able to put into practice the characteristic features and technical guidelines of poetry to create and present new texts based on the workshop. The state oil company will then make a selection of the best texts of the participants for an anthology to be published digitally by PETROPERU.
The sessions will be held online, via Zoom, and are aimed at the general public. Signing up is completely free. Each person, at the time of registration, must present a personal presentation text and the reason for taking the workshop. The theoretical and fictional reading material will be available to the student electronically and the format will be academic, always favoring interaction between the participants.
At the end of the four sessions, registrants will receive a digital certificate. Additional inquiries may be made at the following link: cope@petroperu.com.pe
