Pipeline workers join the fight against COVID-19 in Piura

Pipeline workers join the fight against COVID-19 in Piura

Workers of the PETROPERU North Peruvian Pipeline - ONP, joined the actions to fight the pandemic caused by COVID-19, and donated hygiene and disinfection products, to the peasant rounds of Bayóvar - Sechura; as well as protective equipment for medical personnel who care for COVID patients at the Hospital Santa Rosa de Piura.

The peasant rounds of Bayóvar were also provided with basic food products to alleviate the critical economic situation of the families of the ronderos, which has become more acute with the national health emergency.

The peasant rounds based in Bayóvar, have contributed to decrease criminal acts in the area, which has been reflected in a feeling of security for the residents of that jurisdiction. In addition, they are a strategic ally of PETROPERÚ in the care of our facilities and the pipeline of the Oil Pipeline that was the object of criminal acts for the removal of crude oil.

Products donated to the Ronderos de Bayóvar consist of 50 liters of antibacterial soap, 70 gallons of bleach and 100 liters of alcohol. In addition, around 500 kilos of basic necessities were delivered to serve the food of 100 families, with rice, sugar, vegetables, tuna, oats, oil, noodles, soda crackers, infusions, etc.

PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

The Support Committee also provided protective equipment for medical personnel and nurses in the COVID area of the Hospital Santa Rosa de Piura, who are at permanent risk of contagion, being in charge of caring for patients arriving from various parts of the Piura Region.

The equipment delivered consists of two (2) 3M Full Faces respirators with the respective accessories such as cartridges, filters and filter retainers; 5 face protectors, 5 Tyvek suits, 200 units of hair covers and 200 units of shoe covers.

The donation was managed through the Support Committee, made up of workers and workers' wives, in order to provide social support to neighboring populations of the ONP, who are in a vulnerable situation. This type of aid is carried out according to the fund that is collected with the voluntary contribution of the workers registered in said committee.
